Las Vegas Information and Highlights
Las Vegas is a city famed for its casinos, attractions and active nightlife. Las Vegas is more than the famous sin city, however, and is surrounded by other unincorporated communities such as Paradise, Winchester and Enterprise, as well as Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Sunrise Manor, Spring Valley and Boulder City. Properties in Las Vegas span between the affluent mansions that sprawl before Red Rock to the acres of open desert where smaller homes dot the horizon. Rafael Rivera, a young Mexican scout, is credited to have been the first non-Native American to discover where Las Vegas would form in 1829. A trader by the name of Antonio Armijo would lead a 60-man party along the Spanish trail and would help culminate the name “Las Vegas” which translates to “the meadows”.
